The term “ ancient Israel” refers to dynasties formed in the Levant by Jewish people in the early era. The Levant is an area of today’s Israel, Palestine, Lebanon, Jordon, Syria.

David became the first king of Israel after killing a giant named Goliath that widened the route of the philistine army for later attacks. Leading several military campaigns David established himself as a powerful ruler of Israel.

ᕼOᗯ ᗪᗩᐯIᗪ ᗩSᑕEᑎᗪEᗪ TᕼE TᕼᖇOᑎE?

David was an ordinary shepherd and musician. The prophet Samuel brought him to Saul’s court and there Saul was enchanted to hear the soothing tune of Harp later appointed David as his armour-bearer. Then he fought with Goliath. David made him chief of his Army. Despite the cordial relationship between the young general and Saul, a conflict broke out. David was bound to flee as Saul plotted to kill him. David chose to avoid the philistines and focused more on capturing Jerusalem. After seizing Jerusalem, the whole Philistines came under his control.

ᗷIᖇTᕼ Oᖴ SOᒪOᗰOᑎ:

Solomon was the second born child of David and his wife Bathseba in Jerusalem 990 BCE. David gradually prepared Solomon to succeed Him as a king.

After King David’s death, his son Solomon took control over the kingdom and built a place of worship that is now known as “The First Temple’’. To be continued………

Solomon’s Temple

𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙀𝙖𝙧𝙡𝙮 𝙝𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙮 𝙤𝙛 𝙅𝙚𝙬𝙨

After King Solomon died around 930B.C.The Kingdom divided into the Northern part and the Southern Part. The Northern part is known as Israel and the Southern part known as Judah, it was named after the tribe of Judah. According to the source, the reason for this splitting was the Corvee tax and Free labour. The Hebrew Bible mentioned that an Egyptian Pharao named Shaisank raid against Jerusalem at that time. Around 9th and 7th B.C. Assyrian Empire conquered from modern-day Iraq to the borders of Egypt..

𝙏𝙝𝙚𝙣 𝙃𝙤𝙬 𝙄𝙨𝙧𝙖𝙚𝙡 𝘾𝙖𝙢𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙖𝙣 𝙚𝙣𝙙

Hebrew Bible suggests that the Assyrian campaign against Israel was a part of a large war consequently Israel came to an end with its remaining territory incorporated into the Assyrian Empire. Judah was the last Jewish kingdom that had to pay tribute to Assyria.

Later Babylonians conquered the kingdom of Assyrian. It was the Babylonians who destroyed First Temple built by Jews. In recent years many Cuneiform Tablets emerged from Iraq revealing the detailed life of Jewish deportees.

The Babylonians were eventually conquered by the Persian Empire. Persian King Cyrus gave Jews permission to return to Jerusalem.
